Safety Officer Behrens
Honored by FDNY Squad 252
December 7, 2007 - Members
past and present enjoyed an evening filled with laughter and endless
stories at the Squad 252 Annual Christmas Party at Jack Duggans in
Floral Park. As always it was great to see everyone and reminise about
days past. Five members were recognized for achievement over the past
year. Congratulations to:
Firefighter Sean Goodridge for completing the Army’s intense
"Jump" program for airbourne soldiers. Sgt Goodridge, having
safely and successfully completed numerous tours of duty in Iraq, is an
inspiration to us all.
Honorary Firefighter Dick
Behrens for his 45 Years of dedication to the Officers and Members of
Squad 252. Over the last 45 years, Dick has always been their for the
company enjoying the good times and weathering the bad. It is always a
pleasure to have him around the firehouse.
Newly promoted Captain Joe Jardin. Captain Jardin’s promotion was
truly a loss for Squad 252 and a gain to the entire Special Operations
Command. The knowledge he brings to the table and the confindence he has
as an officer is invaluable.
Newly promoted Captain Steve Mockler. Another huge loss to the company
both in size and intensity. Captain Mockler will also be missed both in
the firehouse (maybe not so much the kitchen) and certainly on the
fireground by Squad 252.
Newly promoted Lieutenant David Rodriguez. Lieutenant D-Rod has only
begun to do great things in this Department. His passion for the job and
willingness to teach is sure to be an asset wherever he goes. Filling
his shoes in the company will be impossible.
Good job to all those who worked hard to make the party a success!
