James Cudahy
The membership of Schuyler Hose
Company mourns the loss of Life Member James Cudahy. Jim originally joined
Schuyler Hose on March 16, 1936 at the age of 18 and remained an active member
until the company break up in November of 1953. Jim rejoined the
re-organized Schuyler Hose Company in November of 1955. Jim was elected as
Secretary of SHC in April elections of 1956 and remained in that position
for the next fourteen years. Jim remained active into the mid 70's.
James Cudahy SCHUYLERVILLE -- James Cudahy, 85, a lifelong resident
of Schuylerville, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Our Lady of Mercy Life
Center in Guilderland.
Born Oct. 22, 1917, in Schuylerville, he was the son of James and Alica
Connors Cudahy.
Jim was a graduate of Schuylerville Central Schools and served with the
U.S. Army in World War II.
He had been employed by the New York State Department of Corrections at
the Mattewan State Hospital for many years, and his last assignment with
the department was at the Training Academy in Albany.
Jim was a life member of Schuyler Hose Co. and a communicant of Notre
Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Cudahy,
who died in 1997.
Survivors include his caregiver for six years, Barbara Willette of
Schuylerville, and several cousins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Notre
Dame-Visitation Church with the Rev. Christopher Welch, pastor,
officiating.
The Rite of Committal will be in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery in
Schuylerville.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Flynn Brothers Inc. Funeral
Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.

Schuylerville, NY 12871.
Members of Schuyler Hose Co. are asked to meet at 6:30 tonight at the
funeral home.
